| We have been working hard this week, so this is our 1-day late flashback Friday!
These photos take us back to the very first fire station in Stockdale, built around the mid-to late- 1920’s.
More than just a firehouse, this building served multiple roles in the community—it functioned as the fire station, the borough building, and even housed a one-cell jail.
Located in the area of 376 Bow Street, this modest but important structure was the center of public safety and local government for decades. It stood as a symbol of service and community pride until it was replaced in 1957, making way for the next chapter in Stockdale’s fire service history.
As we reflect on where we started, we honor the dedication of those who served here and helped lay the foundation for the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department we know today. ❤️🚒
