This morning, firefighters from Fallowfield Fire Company, Charleroi Fire Department, Lock #4 Volunteer Fire Company, & Stockdale Fire Department held a fire prevention day at both the Charleroi High School. The fire alarms were tested, the fire extinguishers were checked, and the campus was surveyed for any fire hazards. Students from kindergarten, first & second grades met with fire department personnel and discussed fire safety. We let them look at the equipment & tools we carry, and we showed them our trucks and turnout gear. This was a great way to educate the kids and show off all the great equipment in the Charleroi Fire District! Thank you to Fallowfield VFC and to the school district for having this event every year, we had a blast!
