All occupants were evacuated. 1721 (RESA PD) arrived in the area first and reported fire visible. Squad 17 went enroute with a full crew of 5 and arrived on scene within 3 minutes of being dispatched. Chief 17 reported a fully involved house on fire, spreading to both neighboring homes on each side. At that time it was upgraded to a second alarm, bringing in Westmoreland County stations 80- North Belle Vernon, 81-1 Downtown Monessen & 81-2 Monessen Hilltop. Squad 17 hit the nearest hydrant and began an initial attack. Engine 16 arrived & began operations from the rear of the structures. Engine 33-1 established an additional water supply and set up a master stream on the main fire building while crews worked in both exposure buildings. Crews worked on scene for several hours and we are able to report no one was injured, both the occupants as well as the several valley firefighters we had on scene. Great work to all units and thank you to all of our mutual aid partners. Please keep the families in your thoughts and prayers that were affected by this fire.
